AMA-DC Marketer of the Year and Three M Awards for Business.gov, American Psychological Association and American Red Cross Awarded to JDG
FALLS CHURCH, VA, May 23, 2007 — JDG Communications, Inc. was named Marketer of the Year by the American Marketing Association's Washington, D.C. Chapter (AMA-DC) for its communication excellence on the U.S. Small Business Administration's Business.gov Awareness Campaign. JDG also won awards for a multimedia presentation for the American Red Cross and a marketing portfolio for the American Psychological Association.
"Our marketing successes have been based on tremendous support from our clients and we are very thankful to have the opportunity to work with each one of them," said Len Johnson, President and CEO of JDG Communications. "The AMA-DC M Awards exemplify the highest in marketing excellence in Washington D.C. and JDG is honored to receive this recognition."
AMA-DC M Awards recognize marketers and successful marketing campaigns that "demonstrate solid strategy, brilliant innovation and positive return on investment," according to the American Marketing Association, D.C. Chapter. The M Awards choose winners based on five criteria including project/campaign insight, objectives, strategy, tactics and measurable results. The Marketer of the Year award is given to the M Award entry with the highest score out of all entries received, regardless of award category. Judges scored each entry on effectiveness and return on investment.
"The M Awards is AMA-DC's signature event and the preeminent way for area professionals to gain recognition for outstanding marketing industry achievements," said Pat Lovenhart, AMA-DC President. "The M Awards cuts through the hype to demonstrate how the best campaigns achieve measurable results."
Business owners face a difficult and expensive burden staying in compliance with federal regulations and the U.S. Small Business Administration's Business.gov was developed to solve that problem. JDG developed an awareness campaign to introduce the new one-stop website for federal compliance information to business owners. The integrated strategy included: (1) print and online advertising, (2) public relations campaign, (3) a website launch event, (4) trade association and government agency partner relations and (5) new media/internet marketing. As a result, Business.gov website page views doubled in October 2006 and tripled by January 2007 and average page views/visits nearly tripled.
"Business.gov has taken a major step to help business owners by creating a searchable federal compliance website," said Nancy Sternberg, Business.gov Program Manager. "This website is a beneficial resource for business owners and has contributed to reducing regulatory burden on businesses."
American Red Cross needed an interactive way to educate local units to involve youth and young adult volunteers, age 24 and younger. Through the use of audio, video clips of chapter leaders and other volunteers, and downloadable resources, JDG's flash presentation shows local Red Cross why youth and young adult involvement benefits the organization and how a local unit can involve young people.
APA Databases Portfolio was developed to be used as a visually appealing marketing collateral piece that APA could hand out at trade shows, vendor meetings, and sales presentations to serve as a stand-alone piece that told the features and benefits of all the database products.
The D.C. Chapter of the American Marketing Association held its fifth annual M Awards on May 17 to recognize marketers and their successful initiatives—marketing campaigns that demonstrate solid strategy, brilliant innovation and positive return on investment. This year's awards included 30 categories in marketing research, corporate identity, marketing campaigns, direct marketing campaigns, marketing collateral, multimedia and computer based marketing, public relations, investor relations, advertising and promotional items.
