FALLS CHURCH, Va., Oct. 19, 2005—JDG Communications, Inc. won six Silver Inkwell Awards last night from the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Washington chapter. Honoring communication excellence, JDG's winning projects included a global branding guide for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the myPay awareness campaign for the Defense Finance Accounting Service (DFAS) and marketing research for the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
"This year's winners demonstrate JDG's core strengths in developing organizational identity/branding campaigns, issue/advocacy campaigns and government communication," said JDG President and Strategic Counsel Len Johnson. JDG's six awards include:
For USAID, JDG developed consistent graphic standards for the programs, projects, public communications and branded commodities the agency provides that increase the value and visibility of U.S. foreign assistance. All materials are available at www.usaid.gov/branding.
JDG's winning DFAS project was to create awareness for myPay, an Internet solution that allows active and retired military personnel to manage their personal pay records, securely make direct changes and retrieve information from their accounts. JDG created a marketing and media plan to elicit nationwide awareness to increase the number of registered PINs. Tactics for the campaign included advertising and public relations to communicate the benefits of myPay and encourage registration.
For the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), JDG conducted qualitative research for its Office of Marketing and Customer Service to learn how best to reach the target customer audience and provide input for the Calendar Year 2005 SBA marketing plan.
JDG's strategic team focuses on "communicating what matters" with highly creative branding and identity programs, public outreach campaigns, website design and programming, publications, capabilities brochures, consumer and b2b sales support materials and trade show exhibits. Current and past clients include the Federal Trade Commission, U.S. General Services Administration, Environmental Protection Agency, Small Business Administration, SCORE, the American Psychological Association, and the United Way of the National Capital Area.
