FALLS CHURCH, VA—JDG Communications was selected by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to create an awareness and education campaign to launch the National Do Not Call Registry. The Registry will allow consumers to limit unwanted telemarketing calls by giving them the option to register their phone numbers on the National Registry developed and administered by the FTC.
"Our team is truly honored and excited to be selected for this high-profile national campaign. We are eager to apply our creative resources to an initiative that has such wide public support," states Len Johnson, president and CEO of JDG Communications. "We fully understand our task is to create awareness among consumers about their choices regarding the National Do Not Call Registry rather than to sell the program. However, we expect to bring a touch of Madison Avenue to Pennsylvania Avenue to create a campaign that gets noticed."
JDG Communications will create a campaign identity that will appear on the new registration Web site and all other support materials. They will develop a media kit, radio and print PSAs, as well as regional events to create national consumer awareness. Ricci Communications will handle media outreach and event coordination and West Glen Communications will provide PSA distribution support as subcontractor partners. With only ten weeks for development, the initial campaign will begin to roll out at the end of June 2003.
